After the success of the Pilot Project at Dayuan, Taoyuan City Government Transportation Bureau agreed with the benefit of AI signal control, and planed to expand the scope of implementation.
City government selected Provincial Highway No. 31, the corridor between HSR station and Freeway No.2, as the AI traffic control improvement area from 2020 to 2024. Furthermore, this project also obtained the 2020 ITS sponsorship from the MOTC in Taiwan.
RisingStar Ltd. planned and designed the AI signal control strategy of this project which was launched in March, 2020 for performance testing. The test result showed that AI signal control system reduced travel time by an average of about 15% in the AM/PM peaks on weekdays, and reduced travel time about 23% in the AM/PM peaks on weekends.
The system is still in operation until today and brings huge benefits to the corridor. It is expected to expand the scope to the vicinity of Taoyuan high-speed rail stations by 2024.

Due to the outstanding results, the Taoyuan City Transportation Bureau exhibited the project results at the 2021 Smart City Exhibition. The Mayor of Taoyuan and Deputy Minister of MOTC both visited the exhibition site and valued this project as a great milestone of ITS industry in Taiwan..
